Police: Man Charges Woman, Brandishes Firearm at Timeshare Meeting

JCCPolice PatchA Norfolk man was arrested Friday after James City County Police say he became angry during a business meeting then showed his handgun.

The report states Quinton L. Schneider, 34, was in a business meeting at a timeshare in the 5300 block of Olde Towne Road Oct. 5 with customers and sales representatives when he “became agitated.”

Schneider was asked to leave after he made “racially motivated comments,” said Stephanie Williams-Ortery of the James City County Police Department.

He then stood up and flipped the table, then charged at a woman as he “reached under his shirt and grasped the handle of a revolver on his right hip,” according to a criminal complaint filed against Schneider in Williamsburg-James City County District Court.

A nearby sales representative was able to get to Schneider before he could draw the gun out of its holster, and several sales representatives escorted him off the property, the criminal complaint states. Schneider got into his car and fled, Williams-Ortery said.

The woman he allegedly charged told police she was “in fear for her life at that moment” and wished to prosecute, according to the complaint.

Schneider has been charged with brandishing a firearm and disorderly conduct.
