Downed Tree Knocks Out Power at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center

Dominion Virginia Power trucksMore than 2,200 customers, including Sentara Williamsaburg Regional Medical Center, were without power  in James City and York counties after a tree fell on a power line near Newman Road in Upper York County on Wednesday morning.

The outage started around 9:16 a.m. Dominion crews at the scene were quickly able to restore power to 986 customer. As of 10:41 a.m., 1,219 customers still lack power.

Sentara’s power was restored before 10 a.m., according to Dominion Spokeswoman Bonita Harris. Power is expected to be restored to all customers by 1 p.m.

Another outage is shown in the City of Williamsburg near the Savannah Green subdivision affecting six customers. That outage, which is also under investigation, is expected to be fixed between 1 and 3 p.m.
