A 47-year-old Newport News woman is facing charges after she allegedly forced her way into her ex-boyfriend’s apartment in York County, pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him.

Kimberly F. Johnson went to the apartment in The Townehomes at Meadowlake Farms off Hampton Highway in Tabb shortly before 11 p.m. July 14, said Lt. Dennis Ivey of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

Ivey said Johnson forced her way inside when someone answered the door and then went upstairs to where her former boyfriend was asleep. She is then alleged to have pointed a handgun at him and threatened to kill him.

Nobody was hurt during the incident, and there was no damage to the apartment. Ivey said Johnson was not in the house for long.

Investigators then obtained warrants for Johnson’s arrest. A short time later she turned herself in.

Johnson, who is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, faces one felony count of breaking and entering and one misdemeanor count of brandishing a firearm.

She will appear in York County District Court at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 3.
