The Williamsburg Police Department is investigating after a man told police three unidentified men attempted to rob him at gunpoint around 11:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Capitol Landing and Bypass roads.
The man told police he was walking from a 7-Eleven back to his hotel on Capitol Landing Road when he was approached by the three men, one of whom brandished a firearm and demanded his possessions. The man fled the area without giving up any of his belongings, said Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department.
Riley said the man was not hurt during the attempted robbery. The three suspects left the area before police arrived. No further description is available about their identities.
