Historic Triangle Offices Plan Independence Day Closures

American FlagAs Historic Triangle residents prepare to celebrate the 238th anniversary of nation’s independence from England, local government offices are announcing closures.

York County

York County offices, courts and libraries will be closed Friday. The Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, York-Poquoson Social Services, Waste Management center and administrative office and the regional yard waste composting facility will be closed.

Trash pickups scheduled for Friday will take place Saturday instead. Bins should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. for collection. All other trash collections will take place as regularly scheduled.

Recycling pickups will not be affected by the holiday.

James City County

James City County’s offices, convenience centers and garbage transfer station, recreation center and Freedom Park Interpretive Center, library and courts will be closed Friday.

Curbside recycling in the county will be picked up on its regular schedule.

City of Williamsburg

The City of Williamsburg’s offices will be closed Friday. Quarterpath Recreation Center will be closed Friday through Sunday.

Waller Mill Park will be open on its normal schedule Friday. Trash and garbage collections in the city will be picked up according to their regular schedules. The first recycling pickup with the new carts will take place Wednesday.
