Voter Registrars to Give Presentations to Disabled Voters

YorkCountyLogoVoter registrars from throughout the Peninsula will give a pair of presentations in the coming weeks for disabled citizens about their voting rights under Virginia law.

Among the topics discussed will be registering to vote, absentee voting, how to access a polling place and contacting the local registrar’s office for assistance.

“Electing our leaders and representatives is a fundamental part of America,” York County Administrator James McReynolds said in a news release announcing the presentations. “I urge citizens to attend one of these presentations to receive this helpful information.”

Both presentations are free. The first will be held at 10 a.m. June 27 at the Historic Triangle Community Services Center on 312 Waller Mill Road in Upper York County. The second will be held at 10 a.m. July 11 at the Chamberlin on 2 Fenwick Road in Hampton.

For more information, call the York County registrar at 890-3440.
