The Williamsburg Police Department is investigating after a woman reported about $20,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from her room at the Williamsburg Inn on Feb. 22.
Officers were summoned to the lobby of the Williamsburg Police Department at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday when the woman came to report the thefts of a pair of diamond earrings and a gold pendant, said Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department.
The woman reported the thefts to Colonial Williamsburg Security in April, but was unsatisfied with their results, so she turned to police, Riley said.
There is not any indication how the culprits accessed the woman’s room at the Williamsburg Inn. No suspect information is currently available.
Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP or the Williamsburg Police Department at 220-2331.
