Williamsburg, VA 23185

Virginia Del. Monty Mason, who serves the Historic Triangle, has recently leased 1,650 square feet of office space on Monticello Avenue in Williamsburg.
The office is located next to Riverside Physical Therapy and across from the Williamsburg Shopping Center.
Mason, a Democrat who was elected in 2013 and is currently serving his first term as a member of Virginia’s House of Delegates representing the 93rd district, said it took him some time to find the space, but he was excited to begin working from the new office in the middle of May. Mason has already met with several community members on constituency matters.
He will be working in his office with a legislative aide, several interns and volunteers, and plans on sharing space with Democratic state Sen. John Miller of Newport News in the future.
Mason also has a home office for his position as senior director at Visa Inc., but said he would keep “fairly regular office hours” at the Monticello location.
“The real bulk of the work is done in the 93rd district,” he said, adding constituent services are the most important part of the job. “Having an easily accessible and visible location is a start.”
He plans on hosting several events, including Williamsburg-James City County Democratic Committee meetings, in the new office.
Mason’s district includes all of the City of Williamsburg, as well as the Kingsmill and Grove sections of James City County. It also stretches into parts of York County, including the Grafton area. In Newport News, he represents Lee Hall.
Mason lives in Williamsburg with his wife and two children and serves on the boards of several area organizations, including the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance Board, the Historic Triangle Collaborative’s Economic Diversity Task Force and the development committee of Child Development Resources.
Citizens who wish to speak with Mason or a representative of the district can do so by visiting the office, at 120 Monticello Ave., between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; by phone, at 757-229-9310; or by email at [email protected]. While he is in Richmond, Mason can be reached at 804-698-1093.
