James City County
Suspected JCC Shoplifter Arrested in Hampton
The Hampton Police Department arrested 24-year-old Damon Woodson in connection to a string of shoplifting incidents from Virginia Beach to Richmond, including three in James City County.
The James City County Police Department obtained felony warrants in February for Woodson and three other men who remain at large. They are 25-year-old Kendrick Markiest Alexander, 21-year-old Antonio Leon Kelly and Marquan Tavelle Hoskins. They are believed to have shoplifted thousands in clothing from Belk in Windsormeade Marketplace and twice from Polo Ralph Lauren in the Premium Outlets.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred in November and December. None of the stolen items were recovered when police arrested Woodson, said Maj. Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department.

Police Search for Driver who Revealed Handgun in Threatening Manner
The James City County Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly revealed a handgun to another driver who honked at him.
Rubino said a 36-year-old man was driving on the 100 block of Industrial Boulevard behind a dark-colored van traveling at 5 to 10 mph. He blew his horn at the van, which then pulled over. A man got out of the van and revealed a holstered handgun.
“Is there a problem?” He asked the driver.
The man then got back into the van and drove away. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
Williamsburg
Walgreens Employee Charged with Embezzling Thousands
A 37-year-old Williamsburg man who worked at the Walgreens on the 1300 block of Richmond Road was arrested Feb. 14 after he allegedly embezzled thousands of dollars in money and other items from the store.
Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department said officers responded to the Walgreens at about 3:55 p.m. Feb. 14. They arrested Gregory Oscar Catholic after management reported he had made several unauthorized transactions.
Catholic is charged with one misdemeanor and six felony counts of embezzlement.
York County
Deputies Seek Suspects After Items Stolen From Cars
The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is looking for suspects after items were stolen from several vehicles between Feb. 16 and 18.
The incidents are “probably related,” according to YPSO Lt. Dennis Ivey. He said some of the vehicles were unlocked, and others had windows broken out. In cases in Willow Lakes and Clairemont Apartments, witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored sport utility vehicle with a spare tire mounted on the rear. A witness in Clairemont Apartments also reported seeing a small vehicle with a loud muffler that appeared to be following the SUV.
The incidents are as follows:
- A pair of Oakley sunglasses and a knife was taken from a car on Bridge Crossing in the Burnt Bridge Run subdivision.
- A knife was taken from a vehicle on Bailey Drive on the Carraway Terrace subdivision.
- A trombone and insurance card were taken from vehicles on Arcadia Loop in the Clairemont Apartments.
- A flashlight, an iPod and candle holders were taken from two vehicles on Rollins Way in the Willow Lakes subdivision.
- Softball equipment, a GPS, an iPod and a wedding ring were taken from four vehicles on Holmes Boulevard in the Willow Lakes subdivision.
- A wallet was taken from a vehicle on Dorothy Drive in the Willow Lakes subdivision.
- Two cars were rummaged through in Marlbank Farms, but nothing was taken.
- An iPod was taken from a vehicle on Pinewood Crescent in the Pines of York.
