A 40-year-old James City County man is facing a felony child neglect charge after police pulled him over for drunken driving while his 9-year-old daughter was in the car.
Maj. Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department said officers saw a vehicle driving erratically on Pocahontas Trail just before 7 p.m. Feb. 7. The car was speeding and weaving through traffic.
The vehicle was stopped at the entrance to Stonegate Apartments, where officers administered a field sobriety test to Vyron Eugene Tyler. He was then taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, felony child neglect and speeding.
Nobody else was in the car.
