Troop 1377 from Walsingham Academy visited City Council’s chambers in October to learn about local government.
Economic Director Michele DeWitt and Communications Specialist Kate Hoving showed them around.
Members of the Girl Scout troop were working on their community and government badges. While visiting the chambers, the Scouts learned a few basics and participated in a mock City Council meeting.
During the mock meeting, they heard economic development initiatives, citizen suggestions and resolutions to create more parks and make recess longer. All the resolutions passed.
