An 18-year-old Newport News man wanted in connection with nine residential break-ins that occurred in June and July throughout York County has turned himself into the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
Lt. Dennis Ivey of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said Moses Deese turned himself in to authorities at the jail Sept. 19. The other two men suspected in the break-ins — brothers 18-year-old Jatavus Dewberry and 20-year-old Jaquanta Dewberry — were already in custody.
All three were arrested in July in connection with the burglaries. The Dewberry brothers did not receive bond, however Deese was out on bond when deputies connected a ninth burglary to the trio. They were unable to locate him until he turned himself in.
The break-ins occurred between June 26 and July 11. The burglars are alleged to have forced entry to the homes through doors. Ivey said in July that stolen property was recovered from the Dewberry brothers when they were arrested by a special burglary patrol in Tabb.
The nine burglaries occurred at the following locations:
- 100 block of Flag Creek Road on June 26
- 100 block of Myers Road on June 28
- 100 block of Susan Newton Road on June 28
- 200 block of Susan Newton Road on July 2

- 100 block of Cross Point Court on July 8
- 100 block of Billa Way on July 11

Deese and the Dewberry brothers have each been charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and a count each of burglary, grand larceny and larceny of a credit card. They were already each facing three counts of burglary, three counts of grand larceny, three counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny, one count of conspiracy to commit a felony, one count of larceny of a firearm and one count of possession of marijuana.
All three suspected burglars will next appear in York-Poquoson District Court at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 2.
