Police: Man Brandishes Firearm During Parking Lot Squabble

During a parking lot squabble, a man pulled out a gun and threatened the man with whom he was arguing, James City County Police said.

Just before 8 p.m. Monday, a man told police he drove into Monticello Marketplace — the shopping center off Monticello Road that includes Target, TJMaxx and Martin’s — where a  Chevy Silverado cut him off for a parking spot, police spokesperson Maj. Steve Rubino said. The man who was cut off exchanged words with a female passenger in the truck, then entered the ABC store. When he returned to the parking lot, the man says the pick-up truck pulled up near him and the male driver, later identified as Charles Eugene Morgan, confronted him, Rubino said.

During the argument, Morgan allegedly displayed a firearm and threatened the victim, according to the police report.

Morgan, 60, was arrested later that night and charged with brandishing a firearm, Rubino said. Police seized a .22 caliber pistol from him.
