Williamsburg Police are investigating after a woman reported that she was robbed by a man with a handgun early Friday morning on the 100 block of Merrimac Trail.
The woman said a black male in his 20s who wore black sneakers, a zip-up jacket, dark pants, dark gloves and a mask approached her around 1:40 a.m., displayed the handgun and demanded money, said Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department. She gave him an undisclosed amount of money.
The robbery occurred at a residence in that area. The woman was unable to provide a height or weight for the suspect.
