No Injuries After Truck Collides with School Bus in Williamsburg

Nobody was hurt when a truck collided with a school bus carrying students home from Matthew Whaley Elementary School on Thursday afternoon in Williamsburg.

Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department said the accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. near the intersection of Page and Hamilton streets. The school bus tried to make a right turn and ended up entering the inner lane on the four-lane street. The truck came up in the right lane beside the bus and struck it.

Riley said the accident is under investigation and nobody has yet been charged. The bus received minor scratches while a turn signal light on the truck was damaged or broken. Both streets have a 25 mph speed limit.

It’s unknown how many students were on the bus when the accident happened.
