The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Department has released the identity of a man believed to have been the victim of a homicide, whose body was found this morning in a burning vehicle on I-64 West.
Austin Steven King, a 56-year-old Virginia Beach resident, was named in a news release from Lt. Dennis Ivey of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Department. A deputy noticed smoke around 12:15 a.m. Friday in the area of the exit. Upon further investigation, a burning vehicle was found on the offramp.
The fire department extinguished the fire, where police discovered King’s body. The case is currently being investigated as a homicide.
