The Williamsburg Area Transit Authority Board voted unanimously to approve a onetime bonus for all permanent employees who received at least “meets expectations” on their reviews.
According to a memorandum to the board, there are 34 full-time and 14 part-time employees eligible for the bonus and the two bonuses “represent the only compensation supplement that WATA employees have received since 2008.” WATA employees received a one-time bonus last year and this year’s bonus will follow the same structure: part-time employees will receive $500 and full-time employees will receive $1000.
“The fixed amount supplement, as opposed to a percentage, is intended to provide the most positive benefit to those in the lower pay scales,” the memorandum says.
Board member Larry Foster asked WATA Executive Director Kevin Danker to “please express to all WATA team members our appreciation.”
