JCC Woman Arrested in Connection to Nov. 29 House Fire

The James City Bruton Volunteer and James City County Fire Departments put out a Nov. 29 fire at a Richmond Road residence.

The Fire Marshal’s Office of the James City County Fire Department has arrested 38-year-old Encela Pardo in connection to an arson that occurred at a residence at 9180 Richmond Road Nov. 29.

According to a press release from James City County, Pardo, the lone occupant of the residence, confessed to fire marshals that she started the fire in a small bedroom used for storage. She then left the structure and returned after the fire department had extinguished the blaze. They were able to put the fire out within 20 minutes.

The fire was originally reported by James City County officials as having occurred at 9180 Barnes Road, but they have since announced that it took place on Richmond Road.
