WILLIAMSBURG— At a special meeting Wednesday, the Williamsburg City Council accepted the resignation of City Manager Andrew O. Trivette and appointed Deputy City Manager Michele Mixner DeWitt as interim city manager.
City officials said the resignation is a personnel matter and no additional details will be released.
Trivette joined the city in 2016 as assistant city manager and was appointed city manager in 2018. During his tenure, he led Williamsburg through the COVID-19 pandemic, launched the award-winning Future Festivals initiative that drew record participation in the city’s strategic planning process, and oversaw construction of a new fire station, police station and the Greater Williamsburg Sports and Events Center.
City Council members thanked Trivette for his service and dedication to the Williamsburg community over the past decade.
DeWitt joined the city in 2005 as Williamsburg’s first economic development director. She was promoted to assistant city manager in 2021 and deputy city manager in December 2025. She also served as interim commissioner of the revenue from Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2025.
