WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Artists Group announced members will be exhibiting and selling their work at the Williamsburg Regional Library Gallery at Stryker Center Sept. 2 through Oct. 11.
WAG says that about 50 local artists are expected to participate.
Members of the public are invited to enjoy the exhibit during an opening reception on Friday, Sept. 5, from 3-5 p.m. in the gallery. Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.
“The Stryker Center is a fantastic venue for WAG members to exhibit their favorite artwork,” said Michael Jones, a co-team leader of the independent artist organization. “We are proud that this is the fourth year we’ve been invited to exhibit here, as it is a testament to our growing reputation for high-quality yet affordable art. We’ve also exhibited multiple times at Busch Gardens and Bruton Parish House; however, the Stryker Center is by far the most beautiful space to display our work. We are grateful to the library for making it possible.”
WAG says visitors to the Stryker Center will find original artwork in a variety of styles and mediums that will appeal to a wide range of tastes, whether for home, office or gift giving.
WAG was formed in 2018 to offer artists a way to display and sell their work at various venues in the community without going through a traditional gallery. WAG notes this offers greater flexibility and opportunities to the artists and is a way for visitors to meet the artists and learn what inspired the artwork they are interested in.
The WRL Gallery at Stryker Center, located at 412 N. Boundary St., is part of the Williamsburg Regional Library system. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WAG can be contacted at [email protected], and artists’ work is showcased on its Facebook page.
