WILLIAMSBURG — A new piano to be installed on the Virginia Capital Trail will be dedicated Saturday, April 19.
CultureFix partnered with local business Spoke + Art to bring a piano to the Virginia Capital Trail for public use.
The public is invited to the dedication at Spoke + Art Provisions Co. at 3449 John Tyler Highway at 3 p.m. There will be light refreshments and local musician Travis Colby will play a few tunes, according to CultureFix.
Williamsburg-based artist Bob Oller has been commissioned as the artist to paint on the piano. According to CultureFix, Oller creates in a variety of media, including watercolors, acrylics, graphite and vectors. Subject matter includes landscapes, cityscapes, shorelines, people, music, nature and flora. The organization notes his creative mind and prolific energy have filled his studio, art galleries and collector’s walls from Williamsburg, to Paris, to the Caribbean and Cuba.
“We are always trying to bring fun, creative and interactive experiences to the community … here’s an opportunity for kids and adults of all ages and experience levels to have some fun,” said Steve Rose, CultureFix President and owner of Spoke + Art.
