WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center (WCAC) kicked off its 22nd Annual High School Student Show Jan. 15.
The show, which will continue through Feb. 14, features the work of students from six area schools: Bruton, Jamestown, Lafayette and Warhill High Schools; Walsingham Academy, and Williamsburg Christian Academy.
“We always look forward to the high school show, which introduces to the community teenagers in the local area with extraordinary talent. It is an honor for the Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center to host this event as part of our community outreach, and it gives the students experience in exhibiting their artwork,” said Karen Schwartz, program chair.
The exhibit is being held in WCAC’s Main and Middle Galleries.
The show, which is being sponsored by Platinum Sponsor Chesapeake Bank was judged for cash awards by Carol Gruppa, local artist and teacher, at a special reception for the students and their guests on Jan. 16.
WCAC is also featuring new artwork of the 2024 Members’ Show winners in the Fireside Gallery, as well as new works in the Artisan Corner. WCAC is located at 110 Westover Ave. and is open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
