Williamsburg Aquatic Club, Williamsburg area’s swim team since 1979, is sending eight of its swimmers to the ISCA Age Group Elite Showcase Classic Swim Meet in Saint Petersburg, Florida. This elite meet draws nearly one thousand athletes from across the country. The meet runs from March 28 through March 31, and comes on the heels of a very successful short course Age Group Championship meet in Christiansburg, Virginia.
The swimmers attending the Showcase needed to achieve rigorous qualifying times to earn a berth in Florida. Those swimmers at the bottom of their age groups (ages 9, 11, and 13) had to qualify for an event with a AA time or better, meaning those swimmers are in the top 8% nation-wide in that event for their age. Those at the top of their age groups (10, 12, and 14) needed AAA times to qualify, putting them in the top 6% nation-wide for their particular events. The swimmers attending include Elizabeth Gregory (9), Gracie Gregory (11), Jack Graham (12), Casey Tingen (12), Liam Gregory (13), Chloe Anderson (13), Pearl Kluger (14), and Andrew Burrows (14).
