Australian Shepherd / Double Merle
How was your pet’s name chosen?
She was born blind and deaf due to poor breeding practices. When people ask about her name we use that opportunity to explain and educate about breeding practices; and to advocate for the adoption of pets with disabilities.
Does your pet have a favorite walking route, etc.? What is it and why?
Because she is blind and deaf she loves the freedom of her own back yard rather than walking on a lead elsewhere. She has the yard mapped out in her mind and really enjoys running with the other dogs.
What is your pet’s favorite food or treat?
Frozen beef bones from the local butcher at the Farmers Market.
Does your pet have a pet peeve? If so, what is it?
Yes! Not playing fetch with her. Sometimes I’ll wake up to find a dozen toys that she has left in the bed overnight waiting for me to pick one.
If your pet could speak, what would be its favorite word and why?
Fetch. Once she leaned the concept of the game she will play it 24/7!
