Yorktown to Host 10th Annual Christmas Market on Saturday

Yorktown’s 10th annual Christmas Market on Main Street will open for business Saturday and will feature special holiday goods and entertainment.

Main Street and Riverwalk Landing will be bustling with vendors selling delicious foods that include clam chowder, crab cakes, cookies, jams and jellies, donuts, bread, seafood, peanuts, crackers, cupcakes, seasonings, spice blends, dips, baked goods, kettle corn and confections.

Several area restaurants, including Water Street Grille, Creekside Catering, Chef K, Kathi’s Clam Chowder and Mama Barbara’s Kitchen will be offering up samples of select menu items.

Shoppers can also browse home good items like soaps, lotions, candles, holiday wreaths and ornaments. Local artisans will also be in attendance offering elegant gift items such as jewelry, pottery, photography, stained glass and other artwork available for purchase.

Holiday-oriented entertainments will set the mood throughout the event, including live music from the Fifes & Drums of York Town, the Santabones trombone quartet and the Dickens Trio caroling ensemble.

Historic buildings and museums, including the Custom House, Yorktown Victory Center, Yorktown Battlefield, the York County Historical Museum, Watermen’s Museum, Museum on Main and the Gallery at York Hall will be open and decorated for the holidays.

Other kid-friend attractions include meet and greets with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 10 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m., an appearance by alpacas and a model train display in York Hall for the duration of the event.

The Yorktown Christmas Market on Main Street will be open to the public for free from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
