
JAMES CITY COUNTY— At approximately 6:22 p.m. on Monday, April 27, James City County Police were dispatched to the 7900 block of Sterling Court in Toano for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located evidence confirming that a shooting had occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex. No injuries were reported; however, several vehicles and buildings were damaged.
Chace Anthony Roberts, 29, of the 8600 block of Pocahontas Trail in James City County was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless handling of a firearm in connection with the incident. Roberts is being held without bond at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
This remains an active investigation, and additional arrests are anticipated.
