Man Injured After Shots Fired into James City County Home

JAMES CITY COUNTY — A man was hospitalized Monday night after shots were fired into a residence in the 200 block of Tarleton Bivouac in James City County Monday evening.

According to officials, at approximately 8 p.m. March 5, James City County Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 200 block of Tarleton Bivouac.

Preliminary findings indicate that multiple rounds were fired into an occupied residence, striking an adult male, according to James City County. Officers secured the area, rendered initial aid, and began interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence.

The victim was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News for treatment, according to officials.

The Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. Forensic personnel are processing the scene, police said, and detectives are working to gather additional evidence and locate those involved.

The investigation remains active, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available, according to officials.
