WILLIAMSBURG — Richmond Shakespeare will bring its comedic 2026 Shakespeare Fest production to Williamsburg this summer, the company’s first expansion beyond Richmond in two decades.
The production, “The Complete History of America (abridged),” runs July 30-Aug. 2 at the Lab Theatre inside Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall in William & Mary’s Arts Quarter. A preview performance is set for July 29.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday (July 29-31), 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2.
The comedy was written by Adam Long, Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor and is directed by Laurie Wolf. The cast includes Jimmy Weinstein, Bridget Wolf and Murphy Scherer.
The 90-minute show covers U.S. history “from Washington to Watergate,” according to a news release.
Richmond Shakespeare has staged productions at Agecroft Hall and Gardens in Richmond for the past two decades; the Williamsburg run marks its first expansion beyond that venue.
