WILLIAMSBURG — The Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg will host its eighth annual Brews that Benefit fundraiser Oct. 17 at Alewerks Brewing Company, with proceeds supporting local nonprofits and scholarships for area students.

The event will run from 3 to 7 p.m. and coincide with Alewerks Community Day, which also supports the Heritage Humane Society’s Paws for Applause program. Halasz Reporting & Video is this year’s event sponsor.

The family-friendly event will feature food from Alewerks and The Grazing Chef, desserts from Mia’s Bakery, live music from Audio Portrait, Rent Party and Back Stage Pass, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. Admission is free.

Silent auction items include a photography session by Kellyn Wilson, a round of golf for two at Williamsburg Golf Club, fitness experiences from Pure Barre and Orangetheory and tastings from local breweries.

“Each year, Brews that Benefit showcases the incredible generosity of our community,” said Jo Feingold, president of the Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg. “This event demonstrates the impact we can make when we come together.”

The club, a nonprofit volunteer organization, uses proceeds from fundraising events to provide mini-grants to local nonprofits and scholarships to area high school seniors.
