Local Student Named to ACU’s Spring 2025 Dean’s Honor Roll

Valarie Ortiz of Hampton has been named to the Spring 2025 Dean’s Honor Roll at Abilene Christian University. Ortiz is a sophomore majoring in Healthcare Administration.

Ortiz is among more than 1,500 students named to the Spring 2025 Dean’s Honor Roll. To qualify, students must be registered for 12 or more credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher.

Nazareth University Dean’s List Spring 2025

Nazareth University students named to the spring 2025 Dean’s List include.

A student’s grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the dean’s list at Nazareth.

Nazareth University is located in Rochester, New York.

Kaylee Lacomb of Williamsburg Named to Assumption University’s Spring 2025 Dean’s List

Assumption University has announced that Kaylee Lacomb, of Williamsburg, Class of 2026, has been named to the University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester.

Students named to the Dean’s List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

Yorktown Resident Rashad Stepney Completes Intensive Capstone Research Project

Rashad Stepney, a member of the class of 2025 majoring in Aerospace Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, recently completed a senior thesis that is required of all graduating seniors as part of the university’s distinctive project-based educational experience.

Rashad’s Major Qualifying Project (MQP), a research-driven, professional-level project that challenges students to solve the kinds of problems they would typically encounter in their professional discipline, was titled “Performance Analysis of a Nuclear Reactor Heated Turbine”.

WPI’s innovative undergraduate education is centered around project-based learning. MQPs are usually team-based and often focus on specific issues or needs of an organization that has partnered with the university to sponsor the students’ work.

Western Carolina University Spring 2024 Chancellor’s List

Western Carolina University congratulates more than 2,900 students named to the Chancellor’s List for Spring 2025. To qualify for this honor, students must achieve a GPA of 3.8 or higher. Students named to the Chancellor’s list are also named to the Dean’s List.

Hogan W. Schulze of Williamsburg Graduates with Bachelor’s Degree from McDaniel College

Hogan W. Schulze of Williamsburg graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology, McDaniel College announced.

McDaniel College awarded 380 bachelor’s degrees during the college’s 155th Commencement for the Class of 2025 on May 23. Commencement speaker for the undergraduate ceremony was military and business leader Linda L. Singh. The bachelor’s degree recipients had 35 different majors and hailed from 16 states, plus the District of Columbia, plus six countries.

Academic honors given at graduation include summa cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or higher, magna cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.70 to 3.89 and cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 to 3.69.

Angelo State University Announces 2025 Spring Graduates

Angelo State University conferred 886 undergraduate and graduate degrees on 876 graduates, including Lorin Miller of Hampton, during the 2025 spring commencement exercises on May 17 at the ASU Junell Center/Stephens Arena in San Angelo, Texas.

Miller earned a Master of Science in Global Security Studies.

Brady Snyder named to Trine University President’s List

Brady Snyder of Williamsburg, a Trine University student, was named to the President’s List for the Spring 2025 term.

Snyder is majoring in Biology.

To earn President’s List honors, Trine University students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.
