HAMPTON ROADS — The Peninsula Community Foundation announced the 12th annual Give Local 757 is set for Tuesday, May 6.
The 24-hour online event is a chance to directly support the work of local nonprofits across Hampton Roads.
According to organizers, 231 nonprofits have signed up, and more than 500 neighbors have already stepped up to become fundraising champions, setting goals to collectively raise $475,000.
Last year, Give Local 757 raised over $1.82 million, and this year, fueled by a partnership with Old Point National Bank and its community fundraisers, the organization is looking for even more.
“We can feel the excitement building for Give Local 757, a day where the generosity of our community shines brightly,” says Tammy Flynn, Director of Give Local 757. “This isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about forging meaningful connections between people and the causes they deeply care about, while illuminating the indispensable work of our local nonprofits. The fact that so many individuals have already taken the initiative to create their own fundraisers speaks volumes about the spirit of giving in our region.”
