WILLIAMSBURG — After excelling on the field, in the classroom and in the community, William & Mary standout offensive lineman Ryan McKenna was selected to the 2024 FCS Athletics Directors Association (ADA) Academic All-Star Team.
The elite group of 52 student-athletes chosen for the honor were selected from an impressive collection of exceptional candidates considered from around the nation.
A team captain and two-time All-CAA selection, McKenna was a semifinalist for the 2024 Campbell Trophy, which honors an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
The former walk-on earned a scholarship in 2022 and recently finished his third season as the Tribe’s starting center.
McKenna was instrumental in the Tribe’s success in 2024 and earned All-CAA distinction for the second consecutive season after helping W&M rank fourth nationally in rushing (232.8) and 24th in total offense (413.2).
An outstanding student, McKenna earned his undergraduate degree in finance last spring and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in finance. McKenna earned CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll distinction six times and was recognized on W&M’s Dean’s List.
McKenna is also active in the community and is a team representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council. Additionally, he is a leading member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has a NIL partnership with Literacy for Life.
