JAMES CITY COUNTY — Experience Broadway in a whole new way with delicious dishes inspired by iconic musicals at the Cooking on Broadway cooking series offered by Jamestown 4-H Educational Center.
“We are thrilled to bring back our cooking classes, thanks to the overwhelming demand from our wonderful community. Your enthusiasm and love for these experiences inspire us to create opportunities that bring people together to learn, laugh, and enjoy the art of cooking,” Stephanie Smith, Director of Community Engagement and Group Services at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center.
The popular adult cooking classes take a new twist in their third season by offering six new themed cooking classes. Each class is $75 and offers guests a chance to learn cooking techniques, recipes and enjoy an all-inclusive meal.
Chef Earl Amos, Food Service Director for Jamestown 4-H Educational Center said “teaching people skills that will last a lifetime” is what he enjoys.
“My grandmother always said, ‘if you can touch the counter you can learn to cook’ and ‘cooking is the best way to learn time management,'” stated Amos. “We spent a lot of time cooking. I told her I never wanted to be a chef, she said, ‘You are going to be one and you will be the best.’ I miss her.”
