YORKTOWN — It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Yorktown with its final two events of the holiday season, An Enchanted Evening on Main Street and Mistletoe Market set for this weekend.
An Enchanted Evening on Main Street
Historic Main Street
Friday, Dec. 13 — 5 to 9 p.m.
The county promises the magic of the season amid snowfall, festive music, and nostalgic aromas of roasting chestnuts and hot cider at An Enchanted Evening on Main Street.
The event will kick off with a performance of classic Christmas songs from the Fifes and Drums of York Town, and throughout the rest of the evening, guests can make colonial fruit ornaments, enjoy a performance by the Liberty Dolls, tour the Nelson House and listen to music from roving entertainers.
Additional activities include a festive trolley ride and an ice carving demonstration in front of York Hall, and Santa Claus will also be in town for pictures and to hear what’s on kids’ Christmas lists.
Mistletoe Market
Riverwalk Landing
Saturday, Dec. 14 — 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
According to the county, there’s a little bit of something for everyone at the Mistletoe Market, from soups and baked goods to holiday wreaths and local seasonal art.
Attendees will have opportunities to snap pictures with Santa, watch an ice carving demonstration, visit a model train exhibit, hop on the Riverwalk Landing Polar Express, watch a musical performance from Centerstage Academy and march in the annual Toyland Parade led by the Fifes and Drums of York Town. Holiday hits will be provided by DJ Ben Herrick.
Yorktown Market Days always take place rain or shine. If it rains, vendors and artists will move into the lower level of the parking terrace. The county cautions extra activities may be canceled due to inclement weather and will not be rescheduled. Visitors are encouraged to follow Visit Yorktown’s social media accounts for all event-related changes and announcements or call the Event Weather Hotline at 757-890-3520.
