
JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown Olympic and Jamestown Sprint Triathlons take place on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9.
According to James City County, motorists may encounter delays on the following roadways:
- Jamestown Road
- Greensprings Road
- Route 5 (John Tyler Highway)
Motorists are asked to use caution, follow traffic signs and watch for pedestrians and event participants.
Several county parks and trails will also be impacted by the event, according to the county.
The cycling, running and swimming events will be held at Jamestown Beach Event Park, along Greensprings Interpretive Trail, Powhatan Creek Trail and the Virginia Capital Trail from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
The beachfront park, trails and off-leash dog area will remain open to the public during the event, the county said, however, beach visitors and trail users should expect heavy swimming, cycling, and running traffic and are asked to be alert for race participants passing.
