RICHMOND — The CAA announced the 2023-24 league schedule on Tuesday.
In August, the league released the opponents for each school. Teams will play an 18-game conference schedule against all 13 league foes. The Tribe will play five CAA opponents both home and away (Elon, Hampton, Charleston, Stony Brook and Delaware), four only at home (Drexel, Campbell, Towson and UNCW), and four only away (NC A&T, Hofstra, Northeastern and Monmouth). In total, each team will play nine home games and nine road games.
League games will be played primarily on Thursdays and Saturdays with eight Monday games. The regular season tips off on Monday, Jan. 1, and runs through March 2.
W&M opens the league schedule with four of its first five games at home. The Tribe plays the first week at home against Elon on Thursday, Jan. 4, and Drexel on Saturday, Jan. 6.
After the first road trip of the season down I64 to Hampton (Jan. 11), the Tribe hosts Stony Brook on Saturday, Jan. 13, and closes out the opening home stretch against CAA newcomer Campbell on Thursday, Jan. 18.
W&M opens a three-game road trip on Saturday, Jan. 20, with its first trip to North Carolina A&T. The Tribe heads North to wrap up the month on January at Hofstra on Thursday, Jan. 25, and Northeastern on Saturday, Jan. 27.
The Tribe opens February with home games against Delaware (Feb. 1) and defending CAA Champion Charleston (Feb. 3).
Five of the Tribe’s final eight league games come on the road. W&M heads to Monmouth for the first time on Thursday, Feb. 8, before trekking to Delaware on Saturday, Feb. 10.
After a home game with Towson on Feb. 15, the Tribe heads to Charleston on a Monday tilt on Feb. 19. W&M returns home against UNCW on Thursday, Feb. 22.
The Tribe’s final two road games of the 2023-24 schedule will be at Stony Brook on Saturday, Feb. 24, and at Elon on Thursday, Feb. 29. The Green and Gold closes out the home schedule by hosting Hampton on Saturday, March 2.
The league accommodated regional rivalries with input from the institutions throughout the process for the selection of repeat opponents, which were announced in August. All conference games will be available nationally on either FloHoops or CBS Sports Network with some contests on various regional and local television on the East Coast. Television information and game times will be announced at a later date.
All 14 teams will qualify for the 2024 Jersey Mike’s CAA Men’s Basketball Championship to be played March 8-12 at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
W&M opens the season against Regent University on Monday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. The game will be part of a men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader as the Tribe women face Norfolk State at 5 p.m.
