WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Area Restaurant Association (WARA) hosted its 23rd annual golf tournament for members on Monday, Sept. 23 at Williamsburg National Golf Club.
The event gives restaurant industry members an opportunity to make connections and have fun.
“It’s probably the only day out of the year where we have this many restaurants, hospitality, food providers, and beverage distributors out together,” said Noreen Graziano, WARA Board Director.
“The restaurant industry is so dynamic and on this day it’s not competition — it’s connection,” added Rachel Sears, WARA Executive Director. “Everyone really seemed to be enjoying themselves out on the course.”
With 140 participants, there may have been some friendly competition, but the tournament also featured great food, drinks, and raffle prizes.
“The WARA golf tournament is a group effort. I would not be able to pull this off without the incredible support of the WARA Board of Directors, vendors and volunteers,” said Sears.
WARA is a nonprofit organization that supports the economic interests of local restaurants in the Historic Triangle. Its mission is to cultivate a favorable business environment that not only supports the prosperity of its member establishments, but also enhances the culinary landscape of the community.
“The 23rd annual golf tournament was a huge success. We had a beautiful day. Our new Executive Director, Rachel Sears, implemented the day beautifully. Everything went really smooth and we had a great time out there!” exclaimed Graziano.
