Tee it High, Let it Fly
The 2025 Make Par for Pets Golf Classic swings into action at the iconic Kingsmill Resort on Fri., Sept. 12. Golfers will tee off at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start in a fun and friendly Captain’s Choice format. From the first drive to the final putt, players will enjoy the rare opportunity to play on the legendary River and Plantation Courses, where both PGA and LPGA pros have made their mark.
Registration includes it all: greens fees, cart, range access, a hot breakfast sandwich and coffee, ice-cold beer and a fiesta-themed buffet lunch including vegetarian options served in style at Kingsmill’s scenic venues. Best of all, every shot supports homeless pets through The Heritage Humane Society. Golfers can register online, individually or as teams.
Participants can also provide and/or bid on a variety of prizes at the annual event’s raffle. From dine arounds to themed baskets, gift cards to show or admission tickets, and from local services to excursions and more, the raffle is another great way to gain visibility in the community and raffle prizes are currently being accepted. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the golf tournament.

Adoptable Pets are Ready to Find Their Fur-ever Home
Welcoming a new furry (or not-so-furry) friend adds to the magic of summer. Nearly 310 dogs, cats and small pets are currently in the shelter’s care and are hoping to find their forever homes. Adoptable pets are available to meet during The Heritage Humane Society’s visiting and adopting hours from noon to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
