- How long have you owned/been involved with your business?
- 10 years
- How did you get started in your business/ industry?
- We were running a restaurant across the street from Rita’s. One day, the previous owner came for lunch at our restaurant and told us that he was selling the store. We wanted to experience franchise business.
- What is a common misconception about your business?
- Many people do not know that we actually make our ice at the store everyday. Also many ice flavors contain actual fruit which makes our treats more natural and health-conscious.
- What makes you different from the other businesses in this area? Why should a customer pick you?
- 1. Choice: Rita’s comes out with new and exciting flavors and treats periodically. We offer many fun flavors but also provide other options to accommodate different needs: sugar-free and non-artificial coloring. 2. Service: Our employees are friendly and efficient in providing service to our guests. They all go through training sessions. 3. Quality control: We make our ice fresh daily at the store and follow strict franchise policy.”
- What is the most rewarding thing you get out of what you do?
- We employ and train many high school teenagers who have never had a job before us. We try to instill the value of hard work and responsibility. We also get involved with many community events by becoming a sponsor or making a donation. It is rewarding to know that our product brings people together.
