Scout Guide Reaches 100 Markets
The Scout Guide, a national print and digital publication dedicated to showcasing the best of local in cities across the U.S., celebrated its 100th city guide franchise, The Scout Guide Santa Fe, which officially opened in April.
The publication is designed to connect readers with the businesses and people who make their communities unique. The Scout Guide Williamsburg & The Chesapeake Bay is owned and curated by Sara Harris.
The company said it has over 1.2 million printed guides in circulation and a growing social media network of over 1.3 million. The Scout Guide was founded in 2010 with a single print publication in Charlottesville.

James City County Department of Social Services Closure
The James City County Department of Social Services office will close on Wednesday, June 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the county announced. The office will reopen on the same day at 2 p.m.
The agency drop box located in the parking lot of the James City County Human Services Center at 5249 Olde Towne Road can be used to leave applications and other paperwork, the county said.

Voicemail messages left on the eligibility line 757-259-3131 will be returned after 2 p.m. Reports on changes and applications are also accepted on the CommonHelp website at commonhelp.virginia.gov
Shellfish Closures Effective June 15
The City of Poquoson announced the Virginia Department of Health has issued updated shellfish closures including the Poquoson River, “Chisman Creek and Bennett Creek. All three are found in either the City of Poquoson and/or York County and all three are scheduled to go into effect on June 15.
Keurajian Stepping Down from WSO
Carolyn Keurajian recently announced she will be stepping down from her position as President and CEO of The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra later this summer to take on the role of Executive Director of the Charlottesville Symphony Society.
A search for new leadership is currently underway, she said.
