JAMES CITY COUNTY — Anheuser-Busch announced a new $4.2 million investment in its Williamsburg brewery Wednesday.

According to the company, the investment is aimed at driving local economic growth. Anheuser-Busch noted over the last five years it has invested $2 billion in its breweries across the country to help create and sustain jobs and drive economic prosperity in the communities where it operates and its employees live.

“Investing in the American communities where our people live and work is part of who we are,” Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, stated. “At Anheuser-Busch, we’ve been producing high-quality American-made products for generations, and through our continued investments in places like Williamsburg, we are continuing to drive economic prosperity and create opportunity in American manufacturing.”

The company said the investment is the latest it has put into its Williamsburg brewery, including $6.5 million in 2024.

Anheuser-Busch noted the Williamsburg brewery has been a cornerstone of its operations since 1972, and it has made more than $1.1 billion in capital investments in Virginia to date. Anheuser-Busch employs 750 employees across five facilities in Virginia.

“As one of James City County’s leading employers, this $4.2 million investment reinforces Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to quality products and contributing to our local community,” Tom Jokerst, General Manager of the Anheuser-Busch Williamsburg Brewery, remarked. “We have been proud to brew in Williamsburg for over 50 years, and investments like this one allow us to continue to uphold industry-leading standards and drive economic growth in the Commonwealth of Virginia.”

Anheuser-Busch highlighted that over the last five years, it has invested nearly $2 billion in its 100-plus facilities to help create and sustain American manufacturing jobs, adding 99% of the beers that it sells in the U.S. are made in the U.S. with 99% of the ingredients the brewer uses coming from American farmers. Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have 65,000 Americans who bring its products to life every day, it said.
