Chesapeake Bank Highlights 2024 Community Outreach, Philanthropic Efforts

KILMARNOCK — Chesapeake Bank recently highlighted its 2024 community outreach and philanthropic efforts.

The bank, headquartered in the Northern Neck, said its staff was instrumental in supporting initiatives aimed at fostering financial literacy, education, and overall community well-being across the Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula, Williamsburg, Richmond, Chesterfield, and Peninsula regions.

“We are able to report over $515,000 in corporate donations, over 4,600 volunteer hours from our staff, and 174 organizations served by those volunteers in 2024,” said Thomas Claiborne, Vice President and Community Outreach Officer. “We believe our purpose as a community bank is to build strong communities — because without our community, there is no Chesapeake Bank. We look forward to carrying this momentum into 2025 which is the 125th anniversary of the bank.”

The bank noted while focusing on contributing to local organizations through donations and volunteer hours, it also partners with schools, nonprofits, and other services to provide financial education and coaching to individuals and families in need.
