WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Winery’s Gabriel Archer Tavern was nominated for Best Winery Restaurant in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards on June 12.
Gabriel Archer Tavern is a casual dining experience that aims to primarily use local ingredients. The Taven is one of the original buildings on the Williamsburg Winery property, starting its life as a barrel barn. It was later converted into a restaurant in the late 90s.
This is the third year that the Gabriel Archer Tavern has been nominated for USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Awards for its Best Winery Restaurant top 10.
“Three years ago we were number eight, last year we finished number three, and this year we would love to be in the number one spot,” said Chad Bergeron, sous chef.
“I think it’s a great honor to be recognized, especially being in Williamsburg where there are such great restaurants and culinary talent through the area,” Bergeron added. “So to be nominated as one of the best it really is an honor and a real testament to our team and shows how hard we work and how much we care about what we’re doing.”
Voting for the reader’s choice is open until Monday, July 10. For more information about the Gabriel Archer Tavern, visit its official webpage.
