GRAFTON — Your Southern Heart, a family-owned and operated clothing store located at 5317 George Washington Memorial Hwy. (Route 17) has announced that it will close up shop as of Feb. 26.

While the store’s brick-and-mortar location will cease operations, Kathy Kezar, the owner of Your Southern Heart, said that she will continue to conduct business on the store’s website.

“We’re gearing more towards stuff we make,” Kezar said of Your Southern Heart’s future. “I do sublimation printing and my husband is has started to do laser engraving and laser cutting. We are going more towards that side.”

The store opened its Grafton location in May 2021 after moving from Gloucester. Kezar said that the York County location did not do well enough to justify the overhead expenses.

In light of closing its physical location, the shop has priced much of its wares at a discount.

The store will be opened everyday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Saturday.

In addition to the online sales Kezar says she will have a booth in Lazy Daisy Gift Store on Richmond Road in Williamsburg. She will also continue to have booths at bazars and market events around Hampton Roads.

The next event for Your Southern Heart will be the Poquoson Animal Welfare Sanctuary’s Cat Walk on the James at Coastal Fermentory, 206 23rd St. in Newport News, on March 26.
