Corner Cafe has closed its doors for the final time.
Owners Tony and Denise Berardi said they closed the Corner Cafe in New Town Monday in order to spend more time with their family in Northern Virginia and New York.
“We decided that family time was something we missed and wanted to make a priority,” the Berardis said in a statement to WYDaily. “…We needed more time to be able to travel without the time constraints of running a very busy fine-dining restaurant.”
The European-themed cafe has operated at the corner of New Town and Center Street since 2015, offering dishes, appetizers and desserts from Italy, France, Belgium and Germany in a dimly-lit atmosphere.
Prior to the Corner Cafe, the space was Tony’s All-American Grill, which the Berardis also owned.
Tony and Denise Berardi own the building Corner Cafe occupied as well. Thalhimer First Vice President Drew Haynie, real estate broker for New Town, said he is working with Berardi to market the space, adding it is available for lease or for purchase.
This is a developing story. WYDaily will update it as more information becomes available.
