A Williamsburg Cajun and soul food restaurant that temporarily closed has reopened in a cozy spot.
The Cozy Patio Bistro is now open inside the Clarion Hotel, next to the Patriot Plaza on Richmond Road.
Owner Zinetta Jones-Cooper said the Cozy Patio will continue to offer the same menu items its repeat customers know, but new choices have been added. Menu additions include more southern cuisine, more grilled meat and vegetables, as well as new vegan options.
“We’re doing the same Cajun cuisine, we’re just doing a much healthier menu,” Jones-Cooper said.
The restaurant closed its prior location next to Corey’s Country Kitchen on Richmond Road just a week before reopening Friday afternoon. Jones-Cooper said she is optimistic that the move to the new location will be a good one for the business.

“The few people that do know, they like it so far,” Jones-Cooper said.
The restaurant is located down the hall and to the right of the Clarion Hotel’s front desk.
Assistant General Manager Melinda Tench said the Clarion is leasing the restaurant space to the Cozy Patio on a monthly basis. She added that the restaurant has a stage and the Cozy Patio will continue to offer live music.
“Their menu, [there] is nothing like it in town, and we think it’ll bring a lot of business to our hotel,” Tench said. “… They’re really good people we’re happy to be in business with them.”
