Spotlight: Business Council Briefs – November 2020 [Free read]

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families from the Greater Williamsburg Business Council.

Greater Williamsburg area businesses and non-profits are counting on us now more than ever to shop and eat local. As a community, let us rally around them during the holiday season and remind them of our support. Through our recent programming, events, and legislative efforts, we have the privilege of serving this diverse community of businesses and non-profits. We hope you will find these resources helpful, as well.

Our Legislative Affairs Committee has opened the 2021 Legislative Priorities Survey, and I encourage our entire business community to participate. The results of this survey help shape our advocacy efforts and allow us to better serve our local businesses.

We are also thrilled to launch our new ASPIRE Mentorship Program, which pairs young professionals with local business leaders for mentorship. The pairing process will take place at the end of this year, with mentoring beginning in early 2021. Any young professionals interested in mentorship can apply for the program on our website.

We are looking forward to the 15 Under 50 Award Ceremony on Thursday, November 12th, held virtually for the public. Our Economic Growth Committee coordinates this program to recognize the top 15 local leaders under the age of 50. We had an exceptional pool of nominees this year, and we would like to thank our panel of SCORE Mentors for helping to select the finalists. We hope you’ll join us for the virtual celebration, and you can do so by registering in advance here.
