As the holiday season reaches a fever pitch, many families in Greater Williamsburg will be looking to dine on Christmas ham and turkey at someone else’s supper table.
Here’s a list of restaurants in Williamsburg, and James City and York counties open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day — with one notable exception. Many of the restaurants ask patrons to call ahead or make a reservation before dining.

What’s on the menu? Some restaurants will be selling Christmas dinners alongside regular offerings, but others are sticking to a limited menu for the holiday.
At the The Whaling Company, diners can enjoy a reservation-only limited-menu meal. Each meal starts off with bread, butter and salad before making a choice between an 8 ounce beef fillet, salmon, baked or pan fried flounder, or a Whaling Company platter of cod, shrimp, scallops and crab meat. Every meal comes with a non-alcoholic beverage, a side of fresh broccoli and rice, redskins, or french fries.
