VIRGINIA BEACH — Six bomb threats were called into U.S. Navy bases in Hampton Roads on Wednesday.

Five of those threats were made to different areas of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.

The first threat to the expeditionary base was called in at 9:19 a.m. to the USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41). That threat was cleared at 12:27 p.m., according to the Navy.

Another call came in around 9:55 a.m., threatening the Boone Branch Medical Clinic. The clinic returned to normal operations at 11:10 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m., there was a bomb threat against the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), leading the Navy to secure pier 16 and the installations harbor, according to the Navy.

Another threat was made to the Personnel Support Detachment at 10:55 a.m. The facility reopened at 11:24 a.m.

At 1:11 p.m., another threat was made to the USS Oak Hill, marking the second bomb threat to the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship this week. The first was made via the phone on Monday, according to the Navy.

The installations harbor is still secure, as well as the moral welfare and recreation marina.

There was also a threat to Naval Station Norfolk, officials said.

The incidents at JEBLCFS are being investigated by the Navy’s security, fire and emergency response team, as well as the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
