UPDATED 8:59 a.m.: Power at York Middle School and York River Academy has been restored. Math SOL testing has been scheduled for Friday.
Two schools within York County Schools Division are experiencing power outages Thursday morning, including Yorktown Middle School and York River Academy, according to a schools spokeswoman.
Between the two schools approximately 800 students are enrolled, said Katherine Goff, spokeswoman for York County Schools.
Dominion Power crews are working on the situation but cannot provide an exact time for power restoration.
Goff said both schools will open as scheduled and will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with parents.
Testing for Math 8 SOL at York Middle School has been rescheduled to Friday morning
Breakfast is available for students who participate.
